Born 1941. I left School in 1956 and worked on a Fruit Farm (Seabrooks of Boreham) for six months before achieving an apprenticeship with the Eastern Electricity Board.
At 21 I qualified as an Electrician and at 22, I married for the first time. In 1983 I became Landlord of the Anchor Inn at Tiptree and moved on to the Boxford White Hart in 1987. I married my second wife Annie in 1989 and we moved on to a large Town Pub in Chelmsford until 1998 when the greed of the brewery demanding such high rents forced us to leave, I became a Bus and Coach Driver which is a job I still do,
The slight set-back of an Aortic Valve Replacement and a Triple Bypass in 2013 introduced me to Upbeat, who have helped me to "Pick myself up, dust myself off and start all over again".
I am proud to hold the position of Vice-Chairman and will do my very best for you all.
As you may realise, I have lived a life that's full, I've travelled each and every highway, and I certainly have done it "My Way"
