I was born and brought up in a village 30miles south east of Inverness, called Nethy Bridge which is now part of the Cairngorm National Park.
My parents moved to Glasgow in the Mid Fifties where I completed my education.
I served an engineering apprenticeship with Rolls Royce, Aero Engine Division, on completion I was sponsored by Rolls Royce to instruct engineering in Uganda for 2 years. Returning to the UK I was a Senior Technician running the Engineering Department at the Department of Physics, St Andrews University.
I moved to East Anglia in late 79, working for a number of companies as an Engineering Manager
In February 2017 my Doctor sent me for a Angiogram at Bury Hospital. I was shocked to fail and to have a double bypass two weeks later. Thanks to our fantastic NHS service, dedicated and professional staff I have made a remarkable recovering.
I have five grandchildren aged 5 to 21
I am pleased to become a committee member as I would like to return the some of the help I have received in hospital and rehab.
