My working career was very demanding but I always had lots of interaction with people on all levels. Upon moving to Suffolk to retire I sadly lost my husband within 6 weeks and was at a loss to know which way to turn. I felt I had skills which could be used to help and was pleased to offer my services to Upbeat.

I became vice chairman very quickly and then chairman and am passionate about Upbeat and its members. I see the improvement that attending exercise gives to people and also it stops loneliness and forms friendship with fun, which is fantastic.

I am determined to continue to raise Upbeat’s profile, raise funds and do all I can to help this charity continue.

I regularly attend classes so if you need to speak to me please talk to me or phone and if I can I will do all in my power to help.

It is not always easy, keeps me fully occupied and often entails juggling balls but I love being involved running this valuable organisation.
